Getting started with sportFX is simple and free. The app is currently available for iPhone users via the iOS App Store[16], and is designed for athletes aged 13 and up (if you’re under 18, you’ll need a parent or guardian to help create and supervise the account in accordance with sportFX’s policies[17][18]). Follow these steps to create your account and set up your profile:
- Download the app: Find sportFX.ai on the Apple App Store and tap “Get” to install it on your iPhone[16]. The app is free to download and only ~135 MB in size[19]. (Note: sportFX may expand to other platforms in the future, but as of now it’s iPhone-only.)
- Launch and Sign Up: Open the app and choose Sign Up to create a new account. You can typically sign up using an email address and creating a password. (The app may also offer options to sign in with Apple or other providers, as the developer supports standard authentication methods – use whichever you prefer.) Provide the required information such as your name, email, and a secure password. If you’re an athlete under 18, have your parent or guardian complete this process to comply with the minor account requirement[18].
- Verify Your Email (if prompted): sportFX might send a verification link to your email. Check your inbox and click the verification link to confirm your account. This ensures your email is correct for account recovery and notifications.
- Profile Details: After basic sign-up, you’ll be guided to set up your athlete profile. This may include entering your age, gender, and selecting your sport(s). sportFX caters to multiple sports (for example, you can indicate if you’re a baseball player, football player, etc., or even select multiple sports) to tailor the experience. You might also be asked about your position or role (e.g. pitcher, quarterback) and any goals – this helps the app customize the metrics and coaching feedback to your context.
- Parental Consent for Minors: If you indicated an age under 18, the app will likely prompt for a parental consent step (or you should be using a parent-supervised account). The parent/guardian should review the terms and privacy policy. By default, sportFX will keep a minor’s data confined to their device unless a parent explicitly allows it to be uploaded[20]. Be sure the parent understands and agrees to any data sharing if prompted.
- Accept Terms and Privacy Policy: Before completing registration, you’ll need to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. These outline how your data is used and your rights. (Key points: you retain ownership of your data and can delete it anytime, and sportFX won’t share a minor’s data without consent[20][21].) After agreeing, proceed to finish account creation.
- Log In on Your Device: Once registered, you can log into the sportFX app with the credentials you set. On future app launches, you’ll typically stay logged in. If you ever need to log in on a new device or after logging out, use the same email (or sign-in method) and password.
That’s it! Your sportFX account is now created. Cost-wise, there is currently no subscription required – the app is free to use at launch[16]. All users have access to the core features (video analysis, AI coaching feedback, etc.). The company has not announced any paid tiers or pricing plans yet, so you can train with sportFX without entering payment info. (If pricing or premium features are introduced later, those would be communicated in-app or via email – as of now, everything is included for free.)
Tip: If you have any trouble during sign-up (such as not receiving a verification email or app errors), see the Troubleshooting section below or contact support@sportfx.ai for help[22].
