After creating your account, sportFX will guide you through an onboarding process to familiarize you with the app and ensure you’re set up to get the best results. Here’s what to expect and how to complete your initial setup:
- Grant Permissions: On first launch, the app will ask for certain permissions. To use sportFX, allow access to your Camera and Photo/Video gallery. This is required so you can record new footage or upload existing videos for analysis. You may also need to permit Microphone if recording video with sound, and agree to basic notifications (sportFX might send analysis completion alerts or tips). All these permissions enable the core functionality – and you can manage them later in iOS settings if needed.
- Choose Your Sport & Goals: Next, sportFX may ask you to pick which sport(s) you’re focusing on. This helps personalize the metrics and coaching. For example, you might select Baseball (and perhaps specify “Hitter” or “Pitcher”), or Football (e.g. “Quarterback”), etc. You can select multiple sports if you play more than one. The app might also inquire about your performance goals or areas of interest (for instance, increasing pitching speed, improving batting accuracy, faster sprint times, etc.), which can tailor the coaching insights you’ll receive.
- App Tour: sportFX provides a quick tour of its main sections. Typically, you’ll see a bottom navigation menu with key areas:
- Dashboard: an overview of your performance stats and improvements.
- Film Room: a library of your uploaded videos and their analysis status/results.
- Training Center: where you can get training drills, AI coaching Q&A, or educational content (the exact name/features might evolve, but it’s essentially the coaching tips section).
- Profile: your personal profile page with your info, best metrics, achievements, and settings.
Take a moment to tap around and familiarize yourself. The tour might highlight how to start a new analysis (usually via a **“+” button or “Upload” prompt) and where to view your results.
- Sample Data (if available): Some apps include a sample video or demo analysis during onboarding. sportFX might let you watch a sample athlete’s analysis or walkthrough so you understand how results are presented. This is a safe sandbox to explore the features without using your own footage first. For instance, you might see an example of a baseball swing analysis with metrics and feedback to illustrate what you’ll get from your own uploads.
- Linking with Coach/Guardian (Optional): If you’re an athlete working with a coach or if you’re a parent managing a child’s account, sportFX may offer a way to connect accounts. This could allow a coach or parent to view the athlete’s videos and metrics. Check if the onboarding mentions inviting a coach or setting up a parent account. (If not during onboarding, these features might be under Profile or Settings later. SportFX’s terms indicate you have control over sharing data with approved subscribers like coaches or scouts[23][24], so integration with coaches is possible.)
- Ready to Record: Finally, the app will encourage you to perform your first recording/upload. When you reach the main screen, you’ll likely see a prominent “+” button (often centered in the menu) or an “Upload Video” prompt. At this point, you’re ready to use sportFX’s core features – capturing a video of your performance and running an AI analysis.
Take a deep breath and get ready to unlock insights from your game! The next sections will walk you through how to upload a video for analysis, understanding the results, and how to make the most of sportFX’s coaching features.
